Santa Clara, CA – September 10, 2014 – SideMark, an award-winning furniture services and workplace consulting firm, announced that President Sandi Jacobs and Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations Bruce Paul have purchased the 30-year-old privately held company from Founder and CEO Randy Horton. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. Known for her commitment to her staff, Jacobs also announced that SideMark is earmarking 20 percent of the firm’s stock for employee ownership.

“Sandi joined SideMark in 1989 and has been preparing for this day since she
became president six years ago. As Office Furniture Dealer Alliance chairperson and an International Interior Design Association member, she understands the industry from a global perspective. Sandi knows what it takes for SideMark to remain a leader. She’s particularly adept at empowering our employees to find creative, cost-effective ways to exceed clients’ expectations. I’m honored to pass SideMark and its legacy for unparalleled customer service on to an accomplished professional like Sandi,” said CEO Randy Horton.

Horton will continue to work with the new owners and serve as CEO during the transition. SideMark serves clients ranging from global Fortune 500 companies to small startups. The SideMark team works closely with architects, design firms, construction companies, brokers, project management firms and others to help clients achieve business objectives by maximizing workspace effectiveness.

“Creating a synergy with this group of professionals is critical for SideMark’s ongoing success. Our team is known for managing clients’ projects as if we have a stake in their outcome – which we do. It takes empowered, committed employees to provide this high level of personalized service. That’s why Bruce and I have set aside 20 percent of SideMark stock for employees who have been with us for five years or more. Their increased involvement and voice will enable SideMark to improve and change at an even more rapid pace,” said Jacobs.
